On Tuesday, June 25, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., localized heavy rainfall exceeding 8 mm (spatially interpolated value) over a 10-minute period was observed at stations along the Chūō Line, including Ogikubo, Nishi-Ogikubo, and Kichijōji.
In contrast, many nearby stations recorded 0 mm of precipitation (spatially interpolated value) during the same time period, highlighting significant variations in weather conditions between stations.
Such localized heavy rainfall events are often difficult to capture with broad-area weather forecasts, underscoring the importance of site-specific weather observations.
